This lecture is designed to address critical problems encountered when performing root canal therapy using modern techniques to solve them. Using state of the art reciprocating and rotary instruments and techniques should allow the clinician to deal with diverse intracanal obstructions and curvatures in order to clean and shape the root canal efficiently to the root canal terminus.
Objective
- Understand techniques for efficiently negotiating canals and creating a glide path.
- Demonstrate the use of reciprocation and rotary instruments, including their advantages and disadvantages.
- Recognize efficient obturation techniques, including hydraulic condensation and continuous wave condensation using injectable gutta-percha.
